From a recent series of culture conversations, I learned that effective partnerships require more than shared goals. They require shared understanding.
Organisations often aspire to create consistency across countries, regions, or teams. Yet local realities are rarely identical.
Different cultures, histories, relationships, and operating environments shape how people experience their work and how communities experience programmes.
This is why meaningful consultation matters. Not because local teams resist change. But because they possess knowledge that no global framework can fully capture.
Strong partnerships are built when global ambitions and local wisdom are treated not as competing forces, but as complementary strengths.
Alignment is not about everyone thinking the same way. It is about ensuring that different perspectives are heard, respected, and woven into a shared direction.
Perhaps that is what partnership really looks like.
